Andy Cole first joined Arsenal as a schoolboy. But things did not go according to plan and he was loaned to Fulham then Bristol City. Bristol City then paid £500,000 in July 1992 for his services. He spent just under a year with the club when Newcastle spotted him and paid £1,750,000 - a record transfer fee received by Bristol City. He made a huge impact for Newcastle United in his first season - scoring 34 league goals, winning the European Golden Boot and the PFA young player of the year. In January 1995 Alex Ferguson paid a British transfer record of £6,250,000 to sign Andy to strengthen the mufc squad and make an impact in Europe. The first season saw 12 goals from 17 games. In his second season he struck up a partnership with Dwight Yorke, becoming a more all-round player in the process. Andy Cole netted 22 goals from the 1999-2000 season and captained his team against South Melbourne, now Andy has moved on being i think Fergies first pick as a stricker and that is saying something in the 2000/01 season Andy was the happiest stricker in the world when he netted his first International Goal but just when you thought Andy Cole was going to be around for years he was sold to Blackburn Rovers Because of his lack of first team appearances all the best Andy Cole you have been Great For Man United.
