Sixteen year old Dwight Yorke made a big impression when Villa toured the Caribbean in 1989, joining the club in the same year. In the 1995-96 season he made his mark in the Premiership, scoring 17 goals and 8 more in other competitions. On 30.08.95 Dwight Yorke scored the quickest goal in the Premiership against Coventry in 30 seconds. Since then he won a Coca Cola Cup winner's medal and was voted player of the year in 1996. Alex Ferguson signed Dwight for £12,600,000 in the summer of 1998, making him the most expensive mufc player to arrive at Old Trafford. In his first year at United he finished as the leading goal scorer with 29 goals. At the end of the famous treble year he was voted Carling Player of the Year. In the 1999-2000 season Dwight scored 23 goals, becoming the first mufc player since Brain McClair and second only to the great George Best to score 20 league goals in a season.Since that excerlant start Dwight by his stardards has had a bad year in the 2001/01 season being in the paper for the wrong reasons staying out all night drinking has not impressed fergie at all but give Dwight some credit when he has started games has shown what we all now that this boy has bags and bags of talent, lets hope in the 2001/02 season he puts his mind to the job a little more. But most of all Dwight plays the game as it should be played with a smile on his face.
