Eric Cantona first enjoyed success in English football with Leeds United - winning the League Championship in 1991-92. Leeds then sold Eric to arch rivals Man United who greeted him with open arms for a mere £1,200,000 . Eric's skill and creative talent provided Man United with an extra cutting edge, bringing the League Championship in 1992-93 and the historic double a year later of the League and F.A.Cup. A third successive title may have loomed on the horizon but for the eight month ban for the attack on the lout at Selhurst Park. He bounced back with an unerring ability to get vital goals in tight matches to take the 1995-96 League title from the grasp of Newcastle United and the F.A.Cup, where he captained the team. A fourth League title in 1996-97 and an exit in the European Cup semi-final was followed by his retirement.Long live the king!
