Quinton Fortune started as a Tottenham junior but it didn't work out. He moved to Athletico Madrid where he played for the reserves and managed to attract the attention of the South Africa manager who gave him his first cap in 96 against Kenya.
He was spotted by Ferguson and brought to United for a bargain £ 1.5 million. This immediately paid off, with four goals from six starts. He has a lot of skill in attacking play and in creating goals for himself and his team mates.
Fortune seems to be another of Ferguson's tricks elevated from relative darkness and bought for a cheap fee, he now looks set to follow in the footsteps of many before him and become another MUFC star if he can stay injury free and impress when he gets a chance.
